Why Orkhon exists

AI talks a lot and finishes little. Orkhon builds models and agents that do real work in real businesses.

Founded by an operator.

Orkhon was founded by Can Uzay, a Turkish restaurant operator in Reno, Nevada. He runs Piatto Reno, a build-your-own pasta counter inside Reno Public Market, and is opening Bora Mediterranean, a Turkish kitchen and bakery in Midtown Reno.

Usta and Orkhon grew out of the work in those kitchens: purchasing, staffing, kitchen prep and guest messages, the many small decisions an owner holds together every day. A tool earns its place at his own counter before it goes to anyone else's.

He studies psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno, and co-authored a published survey of large language models in the journal Electronics.

What we build

Usta takes on the daily work of running a restaurant, starting in our own kitchen. Ermut is a set of free character tests on how you meet people and work with them.

How we work

Routine goes fast. Unsure goes up.

Routine, narrow decisions go to a fast model. When confidence is low, the decision escalates to a reasoning model or a human.

Zero hallucination.

No generated prose: a typed decision from a defined set. A decision can still be wrong, so each one carries its probability and an audit trail.

The mail stays home.

Bengü-1's training data is real business email. A local model labels it, and the mail never leaves the lab's own machine.

Losses included.

Bengü-1 is in use in-house. When we release it publicly, its benchmark on a public data set will include the cases where we lose.

The name and the mark

The Orkhon inscriptions were carved in the Orkhon Valley of Mongolia in the 730s. They are among the oldest surviving texts in any Turkic language, and they call themselves bengü taş: the eternal stone. After 1,300 years they are still standing.

The mark is that stele, with two petals opening beside it: the stone that lasts, and something new growing from it. Wild tulips are native to the mountains of Central Asia, long before Istanbul or Amsterdam.

The Orkhon mark: a stele with two petals opening beside it. 17 84 13 × 58
Drawn on a box of 100 units: the stele is 17 by 84, each petal 13 by 58, turned 14 degrees outward. All three pieces share one tip angle of 51 degrees.
